I’ve been completely absorbed for the past number of years with encaustic painting which involves heating and fusing as well as painting with beeswax mixed with pigments. The medium is fascinating, it’s like working with the brilliance of oil paints combined with the fluidity and unpredictability of watercolor.  I’m always learning new ways to control the wax paint and I end up going back to these practice paintings to apply the new techniques. Here are a couple of pieces that are in progress:

    1. Thank you! Still learning how to control the wax and pigments! Would love to know how the ancient Egyptians made such detailed images that have lasted to this day!
